Sunset house is a retirement home near Saint Ursula Academy. A group of younger volunteers could spend an afternoon or evening singing Christmas carols for the residents. A piano is available if anyone would want to play Christmas carols or you can also bring a speaker.
Butterflies 15 is a relatively new support group for women coming out of human trafficking and addiction. This nonprofit organization needs volunteers throughout the year for different events.
All Stars is an afterschool enrichment program for inner-city students of Toledo. Currently All Stars serves three Toledo public school elementary schools; Birmingham elementary, Hawkins Elementary and Walbridge elementary. They provide academic support enrichment activities and health and fitness programs for students Monday through Thursday between 330 and 530. Tutors usually come once a week for an hour. Allstars will be ready for volunteers the first week in October. This project would involve fitness activities afternoons in November. Dates are somewhat flexible but will be arranged in advance time is 330 to 530. At the above mentioned schools.
The Victory Center of Toledo is a nonprofit support group for cancer patients. This volunteer project consists of two parts.
Ronald McDonald house of Northwest Ohio provides a home for families who travel to Toledo for their children's medical care. Volunteers can arrange decorating for the holidays as well as adopting a family or patient to arrange Christmas presents.
LMHA Soup Kitchen operates only on Sundays. It provides healthy meals to less fortunate residents of Lucas County. Duties include minor preparation and serving breakfast/lunch.
